An intentional blur, to remind me of Vermeer.

Cowboy Kitty
1994-2007

I had a friend back in 1994 who worked for a call girl service in Denver, CO, she herself was not a call girl, but just ran the answering service for the “working” girls. One of the girls who she answered the phone for had a new baby and also a new kitten, unfortunately the kitten liked to play rough with the baby, so the kitten had to go.On a night in September of ’94, this rough playing kitten was delivered to me in a wok. My friend Noel had overheard me saying I needed/wanted a wok, so she brought me one with this surprise cuddled up inside. I instantly named this kitten Cowboy, mostly as a homage to a previous cat I had named Cowboy years before, but this new Cowboy was, and is a true Cowboy in every way.

We became fast friends, and stayed such until his life ended. Cowboy played a major roll in my life, and will be missed in ways I can not explain.

It is in a way very reassuring that Cowboy left us on the birthday of Tenzin Gyatso, 14th Dalai Lama. Cowboy’s heart and spirit were that of a great bodhisattva, he brought peace to all who knew him, and that peace lives on.

I loved him with all I had, and can never forget him.
